how do biological factors affect sheep farming?
floods,droughts,lack of nutrients etc
Well firstly biological factors will include natural problems relating to the life of the sheep not (floods,droughts,lack of nutrients etc) so i would have to say that diseases would be a biological factor affecting sheep farming. however the nature of the diseases should be considered as well since some indirect factors such as weather may cause some sheep diseases to develop.For example sheep that are not suited for tropical climate may develop eye and skin cancer caused by the sun’s ultraviolet radiation irritating exposed areas of the skin. So the breed of the sheep should also be considered, hair sheep (Barbados Black Belly Sheep) are suited for tropical climates while wool sheep (Perendale) are suited for colder climates.There are also several viral and bacterial diseases such as sheep pox and Listerosis that may affected sheep thus placing the whole flock at risk for diseases.I think that basically this would affect sheep farming because of the public opinion, people would not want to consume meat or dairy products from sick sheep and that will place a great void in the sheep farming business.
